There is no noticeable difference in FPS with smooth lighting and fancy graphics on or off for me, render distance is the only x-factor.

I have it off because it lets me access where to space out lighting while denying mob spawning on the fly.

I took a walk down your skyway, jawbone, and it looks like the Fatty Railway no longer has a monopoly on long-distance travel.

Going to have to link both rails via a switching station once you are finished.

With Blazes' flower grower, orange dye is easy peasy.

It's the wool that's the problem.

He is laying down a rail bed that is easily as long as the lodge rail, just the stone bed at this point though. It's waaaaaaay up in the air.

You can have some wool from my place. Take two (white) stacks from the chest at the Forest Biome level (One below the Hub - Sub Basement 5)

I'd guess heading towards the far far away one but that wouldn't coincide with your lodge rail.

I hope it just takes a tour of the bay before blasting a hole into my house and right into my bedroom.

I'm trying to maintain the epic-ness of the track without getting in the way of anyone. As soon as I get some more smooth stone cooked, it's about to take a hard left, directly into Salt Lake City. I'd like it to stop at an intersection of sorts where if someone wanted to connect another railway, they'd have a place to bring it in.

Going to have to link both rails via a switching station once you are finished.
Ohhhhh, yes indeed. Definitely in favor, and I know just the place for it.

I've had strep throat, which turned into what the doc thought was mono, which I tested negative for this morning, thankfully.

My railway probably won't be touched after tonight until Friday night (late), 'cause now I'm clear to go down to a speaking engagement in Central-LA. Good for me, bad for my railway. No WiFi access down there.

I found some more Lapiz blocks kicking around the old house, I have a little over three stacks (of the dye) now. If you need more we can talk.

After a hard day spelunking Andi, Jawbone, Dakar, and I punched back to the surface in parts unknown. In reality we were pretty close to my Palace, but with nightfall approaching and us low on health, we decided to wait it out in a makeshift shelter.

Dakar whimpering in the corner.

The finished switching station, inside still looks like a complete redstone mess, but the outside looks nice and it functions perfectly.

Updated pic of The Dome and forest/desert biomes.

Not if they implement 1.7 before then.

It's gonna be tight, but I think I'm ok. After my death last night, the entire night went south and I started having to burn through the massive pile of roses Blaze gave me since sheep no longer were spawning.

You know the entry point for going underground would look way better if you housed it conventionally, rather than encased it.

The 'front lawn' area is a project way back in the queue. I wanted something safe and easy that didn't look like total ass in the meantime.

Edit: Currently getting booted and timing out while trying to afk at the grinder.

The pressure plate in the doorway is supposed to restart if its not running. A torch was missing, maybe burned out. If it happens again, hmmm.

Nope still broken, why!!!!

To say I under estimated the resources required for my project would be understatement. I burned through so many roses, partly because fry also has a lot of red (orange) hair.

At this point it's almost complete, though it looks like some adjustments might need to be made (god help me). I was telling fatty last night, when I designed it, I hadn't considered the scale of thing – it's far larger than I imagined. The tree line path to my castle gates obscures the distance, but now a pair of red shoulders rises above the sea of leaves.

Before the bonemeal on grass was added, I don't think you could have collected enough roses.

Excellent point. And before our latest dungeon crawl, I wouldn't have been close on lapiz, either (not that I really was, but I'd have been more screwed).

I would have been majorly boned one week ago.

Anybody need any help with a project? If do any more tinkering on my house, it will go up in flames. I've been mining though and have found some nice gold. I even was bored enough to mine obsidian.

Also, I found the storage from that expedition behind my house, there was still a bit of diamond and iron etc in it. Anyone forget their share?

If you have the patience, collect snow for me, feel free to take it from the area around the lodge.

Snowballs only stack in groups of 16, and snow eats through shovels (I've gone through 3 diamond shovels). So I don't blame you if you would rather pass.

Past that, I only need cobble and coal...or just smooth stone.

I took your advice, geared up, and hiked out beyond dakar's roadway and blaze's Hall. Saw the airborne railway. Kept going. Settled in some small islands and just dug down. Having fun excavating with dynamite!

A good exploration strategy with dynamite involves lava. Turn it into Obsidian and you have an indestructable blasting platform.

Haven't tried that yet, but have been having fun exploring caverns. No house to speak of, but a few typography experiments. Have even found 2 dungeons that have never been plundered, so now have saddles, cocoa, a music disc (!) and many buckets. Also, mining in this new area is much more productive. Much coal and iron, a little gold. No diamond yet.

I thought I was far away from everyone, but today I ventured a bit further afield and found the ramshackle hut where we huddled waiting for dawn.

The longer I play this game, the more unfinished projects I'm going to have. Started two (and a half) new projects this weekend, tweaked the desert valley project, and made some sick progress in the original mines.

I'm also thinking my dual-biome/mural room needs to go... It seems less cool now that I've done a good amount of mining, and is a waste of resources and symmetry. I'll have to create somewhere else to house the mural.

Had a crazy piston idea I thought I'd share here for Blaze to consider (theoretically).

A rail line leading to a solid wall that is in actuality, a bat cave like entrance. When the cart triggers a detector rail at the appropriate distance, it activates pistons to pull the blocks back and to the side (much like official piston video). That's easy part.

Now, the tricky part is, You have two blocks with rail on top that emerge from a one block depression, to complete the track long enough for the cart to go through, before it triggers another detector rail that retracts the railed blocks into the ground and reseals the entrance.

Of course, this is all dependent on blocks with rails on top not freaking out about being pushed/pulled.

Many great and terrible plans depend on the answer to this question. Also questions like, can you put rail / redstone / repeaters / torches / paintings on the piston itself.

The workaround for this is to have the track go down 1 level were the blocks will be covering up the opening. The track on the diagonal doesn't interfere with placing a block directly above it.

I'd love to take credit, but I hadn't even bothered to think about it. Then I saw someone use this and trapdoors to make a mob safe cart entrance.

I know I got shit from blaze last time I complained about inexplicable bugs, but apparently pushing sugar cane crashes the game. Client games must differ significantly from whatever they test on because what the hell, that seems obvious.

(Haven't seen the shears complaints yet)

On the bright side, andi, you'll finally be able to harvest leaf blocks to create that hedgemaze you always wanted. The downside is, you're going to have to make sure to plant wood blocks underneath them as they'll disappear otherwise.

I case anyone hadn't figured it out from past history, two bugs that crash the game and required editing the save to recover means I'm not updating the server. That's okay 'cus you backed up your client before updating this time.

That's ok by me, considering I was going to have to dig trenches to plant trees in before. Or plant then fill up to the branches.
