How do I configure Apache to utlize an alternate port? I used to have an ISP that didn't block 8080 so using the built in Apache server was easy and really useful. I switched to Verizon to get their new crazy fiber optic FiOS thing which is great except now 8080 is blocked. I've been lookin around for a while now and havn't been able to find out how to switch it. I've got a little program called iPhotoweb share that shares my photo library working on port 8081 so I know I have other stuff like my DNS stuff set up right. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In terminal:

sudo vi +/Listen /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
Change the Listen directive to whatever port you'd like.

Then restart Apache from the Sharing pane of System Preferences.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I got into terminal and I think I see the line I need to change but I don't know how to change it. I know very very little about the terminal.
I want to change the 80 in

# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
#Listen 3000
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80

to 82. I can move around with the arrow keys and even deleate characters using the small delete key but I can't seem to figure out how to input stuff.

Thanks again.

Yes, vi is a bit of an acquired taste!

To change a word (in this case the 80), move to the start of the word then type cw (change word). Enter the new number and hit escape to stop editing.

Hitting ZZ (make sure you use caps for this command) will save and quit vi.
