T-Mobile sold more tablets during Friday's iPad Air launch than it did the entire previous quarter, a spokesperson says. The carrier has declined to
offer specific numbers, but was presumably aided by the market dominance of the iPad and its highly-promoted tablet data plan,
which offers 200MB per month for free on fully-paid devices. A number of iPad customers have been disappointed to discover that the 200MB tier isn't available for new subscribers buying a financed unit. Moreover, some T-Mobile workers have supplied mistaken information, or unnecessarily charged for data.
Apple has been
unusually reserved about Air sales so far. While the tablet is believed to have to done well, something supported by statements from AT&T and T-Mobile, Apple normally makes an announcement the Monday following a launch weekend with a precise number.
