This is an exercise in humility. If you could go back in time, and be given all the resources available, man power, funds and authority, what would you be able to do to improve or advance a society? For example, you know about metal, flight and engines. Do you know how to mine metals and make steel? Do you know how to build an engine, or crack oil to produce gasoline? A previous thread mentioned bringing soap back to the past. Do you know how to make soap? The examples could go on, but this is a fun exercise.

Fire? Is that it? As a moderator, you are held to a higher standard. I expect more.

If I could go back in time, it would to meet Cody. That is while I was single. Who knows what would have happened.

I'd be as mercenary as I could be. I would go back and buy stock in the Haloid Corporation some time in the early 1950s, the Computing- Tabulating- Recording Company in the early 1920s, and a few others, plus a lot of dot-coms from the 1995-1998 timeframe. LOTS of stock. And I'd come back into the future and sell that stock in January 1999, spread out through the month so it wouldn't look like I had insider information-historical information isn't insider data, but why cause suspicion?
