PC convert since last Oct.
I miss a simple paint program like MS paint on the PC.

Any suggestions? thanks.

I've actually been working on a MS Paint equivalent for the Mac recently. It's pretty well along, but I've still got a bit to do like opening and saving (which will be very easy), some tools (Lines and Bezier Paths), selection, zooming and variable image sizes. I should have something usable in about a week if all goes well.

In the mean time, though it's not very much out to be a Paint equivalent, I've been using Pixen. It's more fitted for smaller images, but it could work for larger ones too.

I think the closest equivalent right now would be GraphicConverter. It used to be called "the poor man's Photoshop," though now I think Photoshop Elements is the poor man's Photoshop.

Teal is as close as you'll get at the moment, the interface is a tad large though.

5 response posts and 5 viable MS Paint replacements with your choice pricing and features. Clearly there is no software available for the Mac ;-) Let me add a couple suggestions:

GNU Image Manipulation Program (The GIMP) - if you know your way around X11 on OS X and love silly acronyms, this program is a free-as-in-speech-and-beer Photoshop clone.

PhotoLine 32 - a $59.00 Photoshop clone available for Mac & Windows. The interface is a tad cluttered, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.

There was a simple painting tool in the XCode distribution as a sample program (Sketch).
but, do you really like MS Pain(t)? It's the worst program I've ever used!
