Hi, I already updated my macbook pro, and now when I restart the computer, it does not connect automatically to the wireless network... I did everything to make it like it was before... now the big question is: how can I rewind the software and install the 10.4.7??

thanks for the help

cheers!

try these:

Delete keychains, networks

Open System Preferences and select the "Network" pane
Select "AirPort" and click "Configure"
In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
Delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for "AirPort network password" entries. Delete them.
Restart, or log out then back in.
Repeat steps 1-3, this time re-adding your regularly used AirPort networks to the list using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.

Delete plist In some cases, deleting the file:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist

thanks to here for the info MacFixit

Something's going on wrong with this update. Weird color, Java animation doesn't work, who knows what else.

Wasn't there a botched update of iTunes recently?

I haven't heard of any of those problems. Everything is just fine on my three machines.

Whenever somebody complains of problems caused by updates, I suspect system "enhancements." That's why I run a clean system.

Got this update on my Mac mini and iMac (both intel version). On the iMac it runs fine, but on my mini it breaks Mail, it hangs whenever I launch it. Shut down/restart/repair permission all fail to do anything. Help pls!!!

Magicbird, go to Apple's website. Click on the Support tab, then downloads. Get and install the 10.4.8 combo updater. Report back.

I could only boot into Safe Mode after I installed 10.4.8 on my Mini Duo, it would always hang in the middle of a boot otherwise. I just finished reformatting and applying update again and it works. Not sure what happened

After updating to 10.4.8, my Mac Mini boots right into console. I had it setup to require a password to get from the screensaver, and after applying the update, it was stuck on the screensaver so I had to hit the power button and the console is the only thing that comes up now. I guess I have to reinstall the OS.

I figured out what the problem was in my case: a combination of 10.4.8 and drivers for my Keyspan USB server. After reformatting and re-installing everything I installed the driver and it bounced me back to the issue I was having before.

Thanks Chris,
downloaded combo updater and run it from computer, at least up to now (not yet 24 hrs) everything is working fine. Wonder what is going on with software update (have been using that since Panther days with no problem).

Thanks again.

There's nothing wrong with Software Update. Installing the combo version of an update is a recognized troubleshooting step when dealing with any problems that arise after doing an update.
