I've read about some kind of trick in iDVD but what about in Toast or the finder?
Michael: Hasn't everything been sort of discovered now by like Magellan and Cortez?

Are you saying the SuperDrive on the 1GHz TiBook are actually a DVD-RW drive (like the SuperDrive in PowerMac G4), except Apple doesn't publicise it?

Right now that drive seems to be a DVD-multi, that is it should support DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM. So far it seems that the drive in reality only supports DVD-R as of right now. Later down the line, apple might release firmware patchs to restore compatibility with DVD-RW and DVD-RAM...hopefully.
