Ok so here I am installing snort and what not and I decide Im going to make a place to put all my new apps. So I put something like this:
PATH="/apps/bin"
export PATH
and now I broke every other value is there an easy way of fixing this.
And while I'm at it, what would be the proper way of permanently adding my new path value to PATH?

NVM, I fixed it
I had to export the /usr/bin so I could access VIM and hacked up my .profile.
Anyhow I know what I did wrong
it shoulda been this
PATH=$PATH:/apps/bin
export PATH
