What do others use to browse in 9.x? I'm using the last release version of Mozilla that's 9.x compatible, 1.2.1. There's also IE. Are there any other good browser choices (quick, compatible) for the 9.x user in 2003?
I still use Classic one in awhile and a friend of mine just inherited a Grape iMac-233 running 9.x so I wanted to gather opinions.

22 views and no replies. Well, I'll reply. I tried Opera 6.x when I saw it was 9.2.2 compatible. "Fastest browser"?? Yikes. Fonts look awful. IMHO, the best browser for 9.2.2 is Mozilla 1.2.1 (it's reasonably quick at rendering pages and fonts look good esp. when used with SmoothType control panel), followed by IE 5.x and Opera way, way, way down the list.
Any other browsers to try?

Here's a reply.
I don't really like any of the browsers on OS 9. It seems IE is the most compatible, but I can't stand how it takes ahold of the entire system when it's waiting for a page to load sometimes.

I use Mozilla 1.2.1. I tried the 1.3.1 from wamcom.org, but it couldn't open a couple of pages.
I hate IE because of it doesn't suppress pop-up windows, but I keep it around for certain websites that Mozilla doesn't like.

Your best bet is to try 'em all, then decide yourself. I kept trying other browsers besides IE, but kept getting sick of one short coming after another, and going back to IE. These are the ones I've tried:
iCab 2.9.1
Netscape 7.0.2
Mozilla 1.2.1
Opera 6.02
IE 5.1.7
Any others I missed?
