One of the things I've noticed is that Apple basically has professional applications analogous to each of it's iLife programs (minus iWeb). I sit in an interesting place as a power user but not a true professional, as a student studying Computer Science.

I'd like to see a Pro suite that "matches" iLife and includes the same kind of integrated functionality that iLife does. Of course, they would most likely wind up selling each program individually too, considering their cost, but think how much overlap there really is in the markets for each. A film studio could probably find great use for Logic Pro, and probably even Aperture for things like production stills.

So we could see the following suite, maybe called the "Apple Pro" suite:
iPhoto ------> Aperture with the new "Events" feature.
iMovie ------> Final Cut Pro
GarageBand--> A hybrid between Logic Pro and Soundtrack Pro
iDVD -------> DVD Studio Pro
iWeb -------> A Dreamweaver-like app more focused towards people with a bona fide web design background.

MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
16GB iPhone 3G

iWeb should *not* try to be anything like Dreamweaver. If you want a professional web programming app, something like Textmate would be a better choice.

Are you saying make a new suite with stripped down pro apps, or sell all the pro apps together at a discount?
