Is there some application that would tell me which apps on my system are universal binaries, and which ones will be run under Rosetta (Power PC)?

I think something like this would be quite helpful.

In Finder do File->Get Info and it will tell you under "Kind".

You can also open System Profiler and it will show you a list of all programs and their architecture in the "Kind" column in the "Applications" section.
