I work at a small design/architecture firm. We work on a network of Macs in OS X and need to do a lot of backing up. Currently, we back up to zip disks, but this is an old-fashioned method. What type of configuration should we be using to backup our work?

External hard drives and DVDs.

Configure a RAID server and make it your backup server if you have large amounts of data.

I agree with Randman. You might also consider backing up your entire system using CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) in case you ever corrupt your main hard drive. The link is here
