First they disagreed and locked the topic requesting the iPod forum Now theyve gone ahead and made one. What the heck took them so long?

Breathe the free air.

Now who's going to transfer all the iPod threads from the Peripherals forum into this one?

That's pretty cool... how many people can say that they were the first to post in an Ipod forum for geeky people anyway.
Kidding aside, many years back, you can say to your grandhildren that you were the first to post in this here forum.

I lied!

What are you talking about? No thread in the Feedback forum about an iPod forum has ever been closed. If there was a thread about an iPod forum in the Peripherals forum, it was closed because it was posted IN THE WRONG FORUM. The Peripherals forum is for discussing peripherals. The Feedback forum is for discussing the forums.

As for why it "took us so long" -- it's that the iPod has gone from being an accessory to being a platform of its own.

Im talking about this topic right here. If it was posted in the wrong forum for such topics, perhaps that should have been mentioned by the person who locked it, aye? It never occured to me that the topic was posted in the wrong forum. I thought the moderator was just being heavy handed and ignorant.

I guess he didn't pay attention to the iPod forum discussion that had been going on in the moderator's forum.

Regardless, you need to get off your high horse -- you get what you want, and you STILL complain? That's just stupid and juvenile, and shows that you're complaining just for the sake of complaining. (And that only helps us to justify NOT doing what people ask for in the future.)

It happened before the discussion was brought up in the mod forum. But anyways, I hope this forum will make everyone happy and benefit us all

Honestly, I'm glad MacNN wisened up and finally did what many, many of it's forum members, myself included, have been asking for for a long time. The iPod has been "a platform in itself" for a while now, not just recently.

But, please do not criticize a member for saying "I told you so" when you (collective you, the moderators, etc.) have been so harsh on others who have only wanted to express their support and reasoning for an iPod forum and their dismay for the lack of one.

And if you think that is justification for "NOT doing what people ask for in the future.", you are quite mistaken, as MacNN needs to respond to it members always, and not be at odds with them, otherwise we will simply move on to other forums and sites. Now, lets all try to be friends and not say nasty things to one another and get some perspective on matters.-- That goes for everyone!
