I was wondering if there's a way I can setup one of my mini's to be used as a USB Flash Drive. I just got Gran Turismo 4 for the Playstation 2...and there's a photo feature where you can take snapshots of your car, and transfer them to a USB Flash drive.

I tried just connecting the iPod to the PS2, and it gave me the "Do Not Disconnect" screen, and it started to charge. But the PS2 did not recognize it as a drive.

Anybody?

It has a hard drive, not flash. Shuffle is flash.
15" Aluminum Powerbook G4, 1.25GHz, 1GB, 80GB. Airport Extreme. 4G iPod 60GB.

Are you sure it just transfers to a flash drive? I would think a flash or hard-drive with USB would work for transfers, letting you use the mini or a shuffle.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

You can get a flash reader for $20. If you have a digital camera, you're already all set. Why do this? There's no way your PS2 is going to recognize an iPod mini. What would be more interesting that this would be if the iPod shuffle would work with this feature.

Yeah...I know I could just buy a Flash Drive. But I just wanted a quick way to do it, figured you MIGHT be able to setup the mini to work. I actually have a Shuffle on order....and I'm gonna try it. I'll let you guys know if it works.

It works has a HD on a Mac... if the PS2 can use standard flash drives, wouldn't it show up that way on there too?

If not, spend the $20 and get a real flash drive.
