Is is just me or is the searching inside "more" more restrictive in MacOS X than in other UNIXes?

On MacOS X, if the searched string is already on the screen, more says "Pattern not found." In other UNIXes, the file will scroll so that the searched string is on the second line.

Did anyone else notice this? Is there a way to fix it?

I use 'less' as my pager. From a bash shell, do 'export PAGER=less' or stick that command in your .bashrc file.
Geekspiff - generating spiffdiddlee software since before you began paying attention.

'less' is more than 'more' in this case Do a 'man less' for the full scoop.
