I need someone's suggestion of what to do. I had a Rev/A iBook which died on my piece by piece. Apple repaired it at its own expense (since it was clearly defective, as opposed to having been handled roughly, for example). Finally, they replaced it, after replacing the casing, the CD-ROM drive, the hard disk (twice!), the motherboard, the keyboard, and the modem.
The replacement was a Rev/B (64MB) iBook, which worked great for almost a year. Now, on my 11th month, the CD drive seems to have shriveled up and died. When I insert a disk, I hear odd "beeps", a lot of clicking and banging sound, and finally the machine gives up.
Is anyone remotely familiar with what I'm talking about? Also, if Apple is going to fix my iBook again, I have another problem, namely that I don't live in the US at this point (I was studying in NYC the year I bought the iBook). I haven't told them that - will they now tell me they won't help me?
