Had to quit at 2:13. Sue me, that was the first time I'd made it past two minutes without a climax in at least 13 months.

I'm jerking off right now just to make up for it.

Can you do that turtle777? I didn't think so... You might be able to get the banana with some practice, but not the trombone too, and definitely not both together.

brass players actually like the pseudo analyze their playing from a scientific standpoint, this guy sort of explains the banana, but usually brass players of this ilk end up looking a little silly and awkward trying to demonstrate their latest understanding of their instrument.

The melody or a coherent solo?

Have you heard Stevie Wonder play Giant Steps? YouTube - Stevie Wonder - Improvising on Giant Steps

Here is another cool Giant Steps video, a good way to witness the virtuosity of the piece, a real time transcription of the Coltrane solo: YouTube - Giant Steps. If you pause the video you'll probably find him right on the changes (with dominant chord alterations), there is too much going on to play outside of them, but the ability to make those adjustments this quickly and musically is obviously not easy

Aren't you that other MacNN jazz trumpet player, or is that somebody else? If so, consider this an explanation for everybody else

Yeah! Don't tell people when that happens though, it is funnier to just watch the whole thing and be surprised.

I was a wee bit more impressed with the level of vocal chord control involved in this performance (which was second in the “Related videos” section when I saw the video in the OP a few days ago—but is now gone, apparently).

You mean funnier to read that someone actually did watch it all? (I didn't.)

Well, golly. I thought it was funny. Oh, wait. That was me.

I know Giant Steps in all 12 keys although I prefer to play all 12 notes in one key.

I'm not sure if my re-articulated high notes video "blows" so much as it "sucks"..

I stole part of your life. That makes me laugh AND I did it with a banana on my head...which is funnier.

Thanks for watching.. haha..

Welcome, Wes!

(Were you and besson3c separated at birth or something? I could totally see besson3c making a video like this, if he had more talent.)
