6500 Hard Drive Info Gone

Because of a printing problem, I had to restart my 6500. I then got the blinking question mark. I started with a Nortons system disk and it couldn't find the HD. On a second try it found the HD and I then tried to fix it using Nortond Disk Doctor. It said it fixed it, but then my HD shows up as being completely empty - nothing is there. Any info is appreciated.

Actually this happened to me some time ago. I was playing around with different games and it froze. I restarted but it could not find the HD. I popped in 8.5 CD and found it only to find a Simpletext doc with a title of Where_Have_All_My_Files_Gone??
Jaw dropped and later restarted and found that it was back so i have no idea wht happened.
Sorry for not giving you a full answer but I have no idea what happened.
Hope this helps

Thanks thirtyfootsmurf, but i think this is for real, i've restarted several times now and it still doesn't
see the HD at all. I read some tips from Disk Savers and according to them, trying to fix with Norton's
may have been the worst thing I could've done.

Sounds like you had bad luck. Next time I recommend using Disk Warrior. It has worked for me during a crisis situation like you described.
