I've used lots of themes for tiger on panther and they work just fine...nothing wrong happens, in the shapeshifter menu it says its made for a newer os x but will probably be just fine even if its not tiger. So you can try it, its never given me any trouble.

so its ok to use a theme for your OS as long as its either made for your current OS or for a newer version OS? but not ok to use a theme made for an older OS? why is this?

for example, could a tiger user use a panther theme?

A nice, quick little application launcher that I love. There are more "robust" launchers, but this does the trick for me. Check it out and see what you think.

Thanks for the hint. Exactly what I needed as well.

Do you remember where you found that wallpaper? I have looked around at the usual sites, and tried googling a bit, but I could not find it.

If you like that, do give F10 a try. It's much more refined, imo. And there's the QS camp as well ...

Once your Finder window is open, hit Cmd-J and find the background options at the bottom…

I just wish we could at least set a bg to tile in a finder window if not also stretch or set fixed.

Quick question...

I know that Silk can change the system font, but is there anything that will change the font color, especially for items on the desktop? Thanks all.

Apparently not; I was looking for the exact same thing a few days ago, and someone (digitaljames, I believe) told me it's not possible to change the colour of desktop icon text, nor to remove its drop shadow.

You can change certain other instances of text, though, in ThemePark, as part of the theme. Themes -> Global Elements -> Text colours, I think is the path to it.

Thanks for the info. I tried to do a search on this subject, but most of what I found referred to changing the font type thru Silk but not the font color. Oh well..no biggie, I just get tired of looking at white letters on the desktop all the time. Again, thanks for the help!!

When I used SweetSlumber the icontext turned kinda pink'ish and blue when using the blue variant. So it is possible.

I used sweet slumber too and it turned a different color, but its because its built into the theme somehow. But there doesn't seem to be a program where you can just easily change the color of the fonts...it has to be built into the theme already. When I used to use windows I always used this ave desk program and it let me change the fonts on the icons and different sizes could be adjusted for every icon...and font colors, that is the only app i miss that I don't see for mac.

To Sweetymac or anyone who may know:

I give up!! Tried to find the Cappucino/Orbital theme with no luck. Has it been released? Also, the Milk/Orbital theme? Anyone know where these are?

Thanks for any help.

You can download it from swizcore.
Kevin was nice enough to let me release the tiger update from the Orbital part. Unfortunately, Cappucino hasn't been done yet - perhaps I'll take it on someday…

As for Milk/Orbital even Cappucino/Orbital, you may be referring to a few screenshots by Anubis some messages ago, with a personal mod/mix of these themes. Don't know about release plans though…

Thanks for the info Gerrit!!! The Milk/Orbital theme was posted by Anubis, I guess its a personal mod. The Cappucino/Orbital theme I saw in SweetyMac's screenshot, but I don't think its for Tiger. Again, thank you for the help!!
