Nope... this almost works on Panther. I had to go back to panther, and tried to apple some tiger themes... All of which had messed up Path, Icon Views, and those kinds of buttons. You would think that ShapeShifter would be able to detect what needs to go where Especially when there seems to be only a slight difference where things are (Judging by what I have seem in ThemePark.)

Enough of my complaining. Nice desktop. Question: How'd you get rid of the hard drive/computer icon on your desktop?

easy:

go to Finder/Preferences. the rest is obvious...

I got kinda tired of themes. Shapeshifter was a waste of money for me. I find that I only appreciate a few themes, but standard Aqua is nice.

Dude, chill. If you don't like DevArt, then don't go there. When you hover over a thumbnail picture, it shows where it's linked... And so what if you hate that all some people submit are screenies. That's the reason that there's a screenshot category on DevArt. To each his own my man...

Mike,
Nice to see you enjoying VOID. The brown works rather well as a background.
From what I gather, I can't make the iChat window titlebar text visible. But running Metallifizer from Unsanity will fix this (thanks for the tip, alwaysdark2121).

Hey Gerrit, I am way fine with iChat not even saying iChat. I mean I know what it is and it looks better without some text up there. and any color goes with white and black try it out!

They're edited Konfabulator widgets. There's this widget called Queries that looks like Safari's searchbar, and allows you to customize a list of search engines to search from. I fooled around with the XML code in one copy of the widget to disable the default display text, and I set everything to Google search.

The second copy I fooled around with the display text and changed the search icon to a globe, then in the preferences I changed the default command line to just the variable, so instead of inserting what I typed into a preset URL, it would just launch my default web browser with what I typed in as the address.

I can't release them, because they're edited versions of the Queries widget, which I can't seem to find anymore. I never asked the author for permission to release it.

You can however download one of the similar widgets found on WidgetGallery, like this one and edit the code yourself. It is slightly different than the Queries widget, however. Once you're done, don't release it. To browse the widget on a PC, rename it to a .zip file. To browse it on a Mac, Ctrl-click and choose "Show Package Contents".

What's the 'pdrf / wibs / ultra' thing on the left? Adium/iChat buddies?

And how'd you make the blue bar behind the dock? Just as part of the wallpaper?

Thank you all for your nice comments - I'm glad you enjoy.
Here's some details (in fact, hints are in the screenshot) :
  • theme = VOID (personal mod with a touch of nano blue)
    icons = Nano blue (4imp) and VOID_appEXT
desktop is custom built with fragments from fatoe - hue shifted - bottom bar built with elements from Nano color sheet
system font : Arial MT Condensed Light

edit : just returning from writing my own reply - xcaliber is right

Really nice (as usual), DJ.

Any chance of releasing the theme mod?

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.
