I don't know, I'm looking for something different and new.

I'm a 70's - 80's person. I do like Nirvanna, Nickelcreek, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Triumph, Live, and Testament to name a few.

Does that help?

Let's break it down. Consider your recent listening habits. Heavier? Bluesier? Softer? More AC/DC-ish? More progressive?

Here's a few that I've listened to alot lately.: Diamond Head, Derek & The Dominos, Santana, Traffic, Blind Guardian, Allman Brothers Band, Blue Öyster Cult, and Jethro Tull. Maybe Traffic, Santana, and Deep Purple might sound more novel to you.

Aww shut up Sherwin. Variety is the spice of life, man. Do I look like a ****ing hippie? I suppose you'd like to trash Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd, the Stones, the Beatles, Traffic, the Yardbirds, Yes, Frank Zappa, ELP, Genesis, Jethro Tull, the Doors, Deep Purple, Allman Brothers Band, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck, Blind Faith, and King Crimson for coming out of that era, too, right?

Dang dude. King Crimson? I order you to go purchase the entire back catalogue of Iron Maiden and play it repeatedly until you're cured. You're not supposed to get into this stuff until you're at least 25. The presence of such material in the collection of one so young acts as a chick repellant.

See...

"I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby, I listen to King Crimson baby"

I got jilted cuz she was a witch and I'm an ugly bastard. King Crimson did not enter the discourse.

I have the whole Iron Maiden back catalog and I listen to it for the same reason that I listen to King Crimson, Yes, Floyd, Cream, etc.: It's well done, it has superior musicianship, and is new, innovative, and influential in many ways. Then again, Chris Squire owns Steve Harris on the bass.

A likely excuse. I'll bet it was the Crimson.

********. Geddy's one of my favorites, along with Jamerson, Levin, Bruce, McCartney, Entwistle, JPJ, and Cliff, but Squire owns his ass. That's like saying Lifeson's better than Randy Rhoads.

Ringo "starr" couldn't play the drums.
Paul McArtney sucked on bass.
George Harrison was a no talent bum.
John Lenon couldnt' sing or write.
Yo-ko-she's-going-to-sing.... is evil and broke up a great band.

Two of these is correct. Which is it? You decide, I couldn't stand the Beatles for a long time, but I do appreciate what they have done for music and do like some of their songs now for some reason...

I agree with the last one. I don't really care for much early stuff, except a few like "Day Tripper," but Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album, and Abbey Road are all incredible. I had a hard time getting into the Beatles, but I've come to appreciate the writing, the melodies, and whatnot. If you can't listen to and appreciate "A Day In The Life," then go sit in the corner.

So, do ya want any sugguestions on new stuff, or what?

Rush is still the greatest prog metal band ever. Still can't get into DT.

So…do you hate Cream, Hendrix, etc.? Rolling Stones? Prog rock? Come on, let's hear it.

Hmm…favorite Cream song?

Led Zeppelin or Beatles are the greatest. Led Zeppelin on awesomeness; Beatles for influence.
How the hell do you hate the bloody Stones?

Hmm…ELP? Genesis? Jethro Tull? SRV? Zappa? Yardbirds? Deep Purple? Doors? Blind Faith? Floyd? Allman Brothers Band?

I have purchased about 500 hundred songs from iTunes. But, no more, for now anyway. Ever since upgrading to iTunes 4.x (I can't remember when it started exactly), iTMS won't accept any of my plastic. After one upgrade, Apple asked me to verify my account settings, I did, and then it said my bank would not verify. I called the bank, they claimed there was no problem. I tried a different bank credit card. No go. Now, here's the real kicker, I have a Mac account, and paid for it using the exact same account settings, after iTMS no longer allowed me to purchase songs.

Um, okay, if you want to make it this hard to buy songs, I'll go back to buying CDs; which is exactly what I've done.

Love my iPod. Love iTunes. For the moment, I hate iTMS.

Now I am not a huge stones fan. But there are certain stones songs that need to be a part of ones collection.

No the stones weren't great musicians, but they made up for it in raw energy and nice hooks.

I mean listen to that fuzzed guitar in Satisfaction.

Well, Richards and Jagger write some pretty good lyrics. You have to give them that. And don't say they're not great musicians. It's not like they have Bonzo or Chris Squire in their band, but that remark is supposed to be used on emo and punk bands. They're lousy musicians.

Yeah…um…I don't really like Peter Gabriel. I really don't care for Clapton's mellow stuff with…Phil Collins…um…yeah. But Foxtrot was great.

I don't get the 'I can't see you!' bit. And the one about pretentious metal. I don't care what attitude you think many prog artists have (including Floyd), they produced some damn fine music.

Don't ever mention Iron Maiden, guitar God Ritchie Blackmore, and Dio in the same sentence with a band with the word 'Elven' in it.

Meh, you say 'w00t!' AC/DC, who sound the same at a point, and the only standouts are Johnson, the late Bonn Scott, and Angus Young, but take the opportunity to bash the musicianship if the Rolling Stones. Meh.

52, 50 were from Pepsi caps. I bought 2 iTunes exclusives a few years ago.
I've bought more cd's since I got an iPod this year than I had in the previous 8-10 years combined.
