Hey Guys

I have limited knowledge on the issue and cant be assed to write and essay on the issue lol.

One of the girls at work has been using her husbands MacBook for work purposes (he pretty much doesnt use it anymore) but the user account set up was originally in his name. When she sends out a meeting request (and some of these go directly to the client) it comes from his name and not hers. We've changed the account name on the laptop to no effect.

Can anyone suggest how we can change the name of the iCal account from which the invite is coming?

Thanks

Matt

In iCal, there are accounts specified? I'm assuming you're saying that it's obviously not that, correct?

In addition to that, your user has to have an actual entry for themselves in Address Book, as well as an email account with the same info as the address book entry in order to send invitations as themselves. Otherwise, the sent from goes from the default email account, her husbands I'm assuming, if his account is still there. It must be.

Not sure if that helps, but in summary, make sure she:
a) has a functioning email account on the Mac
b) has a matching contact card in Address Book
c) has setup iCal, in accounts her account if not automatically setup when her account was created.

I may be wrong, but this is what I can remember....

Its probably the email account being used to send the invites. Is she using her husband's account in Mail? Under the account settings there is a 'Full Name' field which I'll bet still has her husband's name in it. Just change that and it will be fine.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

In iCal, under Preferences - Account, what is shown there ?

If this is a MobileMe / iCloud Account, the name is used as it's set for that Account.
In Lion, the name can be changed in the iCloud Preference pane.

In SL, it might be tied to the Email account, as WaS said.

I hadn't noticed that Lion tags a name to an iCal account. Seems like its getting it from the server too.

Is there a reason why she doesn't create a NEW user for herself, rather than working with her husbands user ?
