Well to start it off I own a 2002 quicksilver, what I want to do with is add a dual 1.8GHz processor, top of the memory and replace the HDD. What I also want to do is purchase a Powermac G5 preferably a dual 2.7 or quad (I heart ppc.) Problem is I dont have lots of money and wont till I have some free time over the summer, So Im currious as to which will be a better upgrade. What I do is photoshop also working on my C/C++ (hope to do some game making by next school year) and Im addicted to Tremulous.
any comments are greatly appreciated. Also I already know that you'll think Im silly for thinking of G5 instead of Mac Pro

Save up for a decent G5. Or an Intel mini.

I agree. I have an upgraded Quicksilver and the new processors (dual 1.6's) make everything really hot, plus dual 1.8's are expensive. The G5 has a much faster bus speed and can handle more RAM. Just seems like a much better investment. Good luck though.

Why put makeup on the Quicksilver pig? No upgrade in the world will change the bus speed.
Spend your money however you want to, some guys like Chevy Cavaliers too.

They may be pigs on the inside, but the Quicksilvers were the best looking of the G4 Towers...
