I remember getting that one from www.xanthic.net but the page doesn't load for me anymore. You can get one of his desktops from this link here though. Just search for "xanthic".

EDIT : I still have a couple of the Xanthic eye desktops on my comp. including the one featured in that screenshot. If anyone wants me to make a .sit of them I'll put them on my iDisk.

cre8tif: How did you get the date and time to be displayed like that:

Sun January 05 @ 4:36:30 PM

Are you using PTH Clock? Because I'm using that but can't seem to set the date and time like yours.

Whoever posted the link to Customize.org I must thank you. I use XP as my main machine at work and I've been looking for a way to theme it more. Finally I can make it look more Aqua like. (I've yet to keep a theme on OSX as I *love* the original appearance)

I have one question though. Everyone always shows themes with few real world applications. Why is that? Do they typically look bad? The little theming I've done on XP looks great until you do something like open Outlook. Then it is clash city!

Regarding KDE. I've actually themed KDE a lot more than XP or OSX. I run it in the background under OSX. I'm actually very impressed with the latest version. I even found some UI features I'd like rolled into OSX. However when you theme it right, it looks just like OSX. While running non-KDE X11 apps involves a lack of consistency, there are plenty of KDE apps. I'm upgrading my Linux box at work to work with KDE tomorrow just because of switching to it from Gnome here at home.

That would be the Eject.menu included with Jaguar. Not sure how to apply it from preferences, but if you go into System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras and open the Eject.menu it will show up.

cre8tif:
I went to MacOSX Hints and did what the directions said. *This was my FIRST time doing UNIX!* But I kept getting this message: No such file or directory.

1) It said to type:
cd /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu\ Extras/Clock.menu/Contents/MacOS/

2)then type:
sudo perl -p -i -e "s/%a /%x /" Clock

and this should put the date in the menubar. But I couldn't get it to do that. Any advice? The "tip" was posted 11/26/2001. Could it be that the OSX files have been altered since then and is now different in 10.2.3?

If anyone else has any tips on customizing the menubar to show the day of the week like this
please let me know, thanks.

It's Whamb... I used it but the playlist options were limited so went back to using iTunes with X-Tunes...

The link for Whamb is here.

I fixed the icon 404's on my site. Apparently I linked to a non existant folder

Thanks, that site took me a LONG time to get right and STILL doesn't look right in Safari or OmniWeb or Netscape.
