Hi. I'm a newcomer to the forums, but I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out. My iPod is broken, sort of. I was using shuffle mode and it froze. I used the standard reset (Menu + Select buttons held down for 10 seconds) but something went wrong. The little apple logo appears normally in the middle of the screen, but then there is a clicking noise, the iPod quickly turns off, and then the symbol appears in the center again. This process repeats on and on. Right now I'm trying to drain the iPod of all its battery life to see if that will help. I've tried connecting it to a computer, but I had no luck. It just continues to show me the apple logo, make a clicking sound, go blank, and reset.

If you can help me I'd really appreciate it!

Does the clicking sound like a dead or dying hard drive? If so you might be out of luck, unfortunately.

When you said clicking, my first thought was a bum hard drive as well. Not a good thing.

yeah you should call apple about that.it sounds exactly like a dying hdd.i just had a hdd in my pc die and it started clicking as well.
