I am trying to figure out how to hack a plug-in file so that iTunes will recognize and allow me to burn CDRs. The drive works fine mounting and using CDs but when I attempt to burn it tells me my drive is not supported.
I've looked at the iTunes page on Apple's website and sure enough, it isn't supported. There is mention of this hack on XLR8 but it doesn't say which application is needed to add my Sony model. I've tried BBEdit, Text Edit, MS Word, etc but no go.
Anyway, here is the file and where it can be found. If someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure Apple will add support for this drive in an OS update but I would prefer to use it sooner or later...and I don't mind mucking around a bit to make it so.
It is the SonyCDR.device-plugin in system/library/privateframeworks/discRecording.framework/resources/devicePlugins/
Thanks...
