I just received shipment of my first DVD-RAM disk (a TDK double-sided 5.2 GB, type 1, re-writable).

Before I try to make a bootable disk I thought I would query the forum because I've never read anything related to this and though I think it should be possible there may just as easily be a reason it won't be possible.

I was wanting to make a fresh copy of OS 9.0.4 and put TechTool and Norton on it to be used as a fix-it disk when my new machine gets moody. I don't want to waste my time if someone can tell me it is impossible.

Many thanks,

Coitus

Further, I've come to find that my *supposed* 2.6 GB per side actually equates to 2.31 GB. No idea as to why though

2.6 GB means its total maximum for storage-- 2.31 is mostly due to the overhead imposed by the Mac OS implementation of the UDF format.

Sucks, but that's what you'll get.
