I have for sale Crucial memory for the Mac Pro. 2GB total (512 sticks x 4). They were used for a few months, and work perfect. Covered under Crucial's lifetime warranty.

Do to a recent upgrade I have to free up the slots..

Asking price is $210 shipped. Payments via paypal or google checkout (preferred). References available upon request.

If interested please pm me or email me at josephsemmens at gmail dot com.

Thanks

$210???

Sounds like a LOT to me, especially considering this will take up 4 slots. But then I'm not a Mac Pro user, so maybe there's something I don't know.

So you don't use a Mac Pro, but felt the need to add, basically what amounts to nothing, to this thread? It is actually a very fair price for the memory.

Can a mod please delete these two posts?

I added that it sounds like a lot. I also added that my opinion may not be the best, but based on RAM prices, and Mac Pro RAM is really nothing special, $210 is a bit expensive. If you're going to post a thread, expect responses.

I'm gonna have to second this. Especially if you just joined to post something here. You can't just hope the first stupid person to see this that needs RAM is gonna snatch it up... on these boards... if your prices are worth commenting on... they will be. People comment on my threads all the time, on both good prices and bad.

Point of reference, I just sold 4x512mb of DDR400 memory (2gb) for $40 shipped. It wasn't as fast as the memory in the Mac Pro, but $210 is pretty pricey for 4 sticks of 512mb.

Well, to give some credit to 4JNA, Mac Pro ram is different than just "regular ram." It is DDR2 PC-5300 FB-DIMMs.

As reference, new Crucial 2GB kit (2 x 1GB sticks) run about $225 on average. Where as regular PC-5300 ram runs about $60 for 2 x 1GB sticks. So there is a difference. Hopefully the $210 the OP is asking is negotiable, otherwise people would/should just buy from Crucial and save slots.

I've got a thread selling some Mac Pro ram too... but as many people know, all my stuff is negotiable.

wow.

Wasn't looking to cause issues or bring out the uninformed. Just thought someone here might need Mac Pro ram and want to save a few bucks. That's all.

Mac Pro ram is different. Apple.com, google.com, etc. Please get learned.

That means for just $15 more than you are asking, you can get the exact same amount of brand new Crucial RAM, and you will save 2 slots.

We're not too uninformed here.

Because when you try to charge an outrageous amount for anything Mac related at the MacNN Marketplace, you're going to get eaten alive.

What??

Outrageous how?

This is memory for a Mac Pro, not a regular iMac or Macbook or Macbook Pro.

What the hell is going on here? Doesn't anyone with a brain moderate these forums? Almost every post in this thread is based on some idiot not knowing the difference between types of ram!

This is what you guys do here? Just troll threads, polluting them with incorrect information?

Uhh... and the memory for a MacBook or iMac is regular? They're SO-DIMM so they are not regular.

Also, as for your "special" fully-buffered RAM, I posted a link a few posts up of 2 GB (2x 1 GB so will actually save more space then yours) for $124 SHIPPED brand new from NewEgg.com.

Just because the Mac Pro is a Pro machine does not make it's RAM any better. The mods aren't here because we are perfectly in bounds warning people of your outrageous pricing.
