Hello,
I went to the MacWorld expo in london and had a quick chat with the guy from Intego.
Basically, he told me that any Mac user should get the full range of program that they are making because one can simply not live without them.
Of course, he was trying to sell me stuff, it's his job. but on the other side, i start asking myself some question:
what about spyware? viruses? spam? and all the system activity?
So is it really mandatory to get the intego programs?
http://www.intego.com/home.asp
Thanks for your help

I've gotten by just fine without them, for 4 years, with OS X.
It's absolutely not necessary. OS X doesn't actually need a firewall (it's secure by default, as no ports are open), there isn't any spyware that I know of, and there aren't any viruses that I know of.
That doesn't mean they're impossible, but loading up with all the Intego stuff... no it's not mandatory.

that's what i thought at first. but it's true that even if we think we are safe, it's always good to be prepared.
anyway, what else is available on the market for this kind of product? not many? i think virex is not that good and Norton keeps crashing.
i will stick to apple product!
thanks

Intego products are superfluous. And they're not even quality superfluous products (like iPulse).
