The thread on top 3 concerts got me thinking. What was the first concert you ever went to?

Mine was the "New York Fresh Festival" in Saginaw, Michigan way back in 1985.

There were a lot of rap groups there including:
The Fat Boys
Kurtis Blow
Run DMC
Chacka Kahn
... and many more

Plenty of classical concerts my parents took me to see as a kid.

Axel Zwingenberger (German boogie-woogie pianist) in, like 1979 or so (must have been around six or seven).

First "pop" concert (without my parents): Ray Charles 10.10.90 - Osaka Koseinenkin Kaikan.

Skid Row and Bon Jovi, 1987.

I hate to admit it, but it was actually a pretty good show.

I was twelve in 1978 and my primary school gave me and some other kid a ticket to the John Paul Young "Love is in the Air" tour, appearing at the local high school gym.

Wow.

I seem to recall spending most of the time watching the girls in the audience... ah, bouncing around. I'd seen pub bands before but I'd never seen girls going completely bananas.

I decided that night to become a pop star.

Glad someone else saw a show in the 1970s. Was beginning to feel old.

Harry Belafonte(can't remember the year but it was a long time ago) was the first real concert I went to with my parents.

First concert I went to on my own was a Millencolin(probably none of you have heard about them) gig in 93-95(something like that). Good times.

I haven't been to any concerts.

My wife attended some concerts in the late '60's, such as Neil Diamond.

I've seen oodles of concerts, practically from birth (I started out as a musician), but my first really large one was a Ray Charles concert at the Stockholm Jazz Festival in 1993. An amazing guy and an unforgettable concert.

The Undertones - Belfast City Hall - 1979, I was 13. My mum took me and my sister, but I'm not at all sure what she thought of it all.

Malmsteen would be great if he got rid of the cheesy singing!

Pearl Jam is the only '90s band capable of atoning for Sarah McLachlan.

I tagged along with my brothers in the late 70s/early 80s to see some shows here while camping near there: http://www.castlefarms.com/index.cfm , including Styx and REO Speedwagon. Then in the 1991, maybe 1992, I won tickets to see Ozzy there.
