Everytime I start up, I have about 3 programs that are in my startup items folder. The finder kills th first one every time with an "error type 2" message If I disable all of them, as soon as I get to the desktop during startup, the finder "enexpectedly" quits (ironic since it happens every time) anyone have any ideas? I tried trashing my finder prefs...I have a LOT of other problems, but they can wait.

You should probably check to see if this happens with all extensions off (start up with shift key down). If it does, you need to clean-install the system off the CD. If it doesn't, you should look through the extensions and try to find the culprit. You can get a 3 day demo of Conflict Catcher, which will automate this process, at http://www.casadyg.com/
