Hello,
I downloaded 8.6 today, but it got saved somehow as a realplayer file, even though it says Mac OS Update.smi. I can't figure out how to open the file now, as my comp. thinks its a real player doc. Is there anyway to fix this,or do I need to re-download it? Did this happen to anyone else?

Drag the file onto the Disk Copy icon, that should open it even though it is a self mounting image.

For some reason, RealPlayer deems it necessary to tell web browsers that it "owns" .smi files. Go into the preferences for the browsers and unassociate .smi from RealPlayer.

RealPlayer G2 has a page markup language similar to XML call smile. The extention for theses files are ".smi". This must have been an oversight on Real's part because Apple's Disk Copy has used that extention for more than a year now.
