Freezes checking HD

Under 9.0.4, my G4/450 freezes after it checks the HD at startup because it froze. This doesn't occur all the time, only sometimes. I have just clean installed the system and I have the same problem. This didn't occur under 9.0, only 9.0.4. For now, I will just turn off this feature. Anyone know why this isn't working?

I've had similar freezes on my sawtooth G4/450 when I have my no-name USB floppy plugged in and when I had that $%@$*! Orange Micro SCSI board installed. If either of these conditions apply to your situation, try disconnecting the offending board or peripheral.
