My current setup is a 15" PB with an external 200GB Firewire 800 Lacie HDD. My PB's HDD has a single partition that has Panther installed on it. My external is split into 3 partitions:
1. Tiger Beta: 20GB
2. Gentoo: 20GB
3. Backups: ~160GB

I installed Gentoo on partition 2, but I am unable to boot into it. Now Tiger allows me to boot into it without any issues, so I'm not sure what's going on with the Gentoo installation. Any pointers on how to resolve this situation?

Last I heard, Linux does not support FireWire booting. If it does, then try posting in the Unix forum.
