I've been drooling over Apple's products for about a year now. Never had the money to buy the piece of equipment I wanted. But today it was the day... I ordered a

iMac 24" with 2.16 Ghz CPU, 500 GB HD, 2 GB RAM, 7600 GT GPU.

But the thing was, I did a project for a company and they paid me through my parents company, because I work for my parents atm. But I did it on my own in my spare time. So actually the money is mine and that was my strongest argument in convincing my parents to buy this machine... because they thought I was out of my freaking mind wanting to order a computer that's close to 3000 euro.

But after a lot of discussing I came out victorious and I hope to join the world of Mac in a few days!

I bet my parents go nuts when they see how huge the thing actually is... ROFL

Congrats! I'm glad you won the battle with your parents. That's always a tough fight.

You'll be very happy when it arrives, as will your parents I'm sure. I bet after you show them how cool it is they'll want one too.

I am reading the forums on exactly the same iMac configuration that you listed. Mine arrived a week ago, and is functioning flawlessly. I was using a G4 17 inch PB previously, so it was a very nice upgrade.

Since I am forced to use Windows machines all day at work, coming home to a Mac is a wonderful thing!

Good luck with your new machine and welcome.

I love the 24" iMac. They are sooo beautiful and big... I like it better than my Mac Pro I think sometimes. Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure that you will enjoy it. Best wishes!

Are you implying you have a Mac Pro AND a 24" iMac?!
