7.6.1? pfft! i was running 7.5.5 on one mac, until a few months ago. i wanted to run pitbull on it, so that meant CarbonLib, which meant upgrading. it now lives with 8.6. current uptime shown:

I think I might install Copland 8 DR3 on my CC so you guys can take a look. It comes with Gizmo and HiTech themed Finder.

Only problem is that it corrupts itself every time it boots and you have to run Disk First Aid constantly. Other than that, it's fun to toy around with.

Early alphas of 8.5 came with Gizmo and HiTech. They should work on 8.5 or 8.6 without having to try Copland. I dunno, I can't install anything under 9 on my G4.

Tossed the system, kept the Themes

The schemes (gizmo, drawing board and hi-tech) also work in 9.2 (even in classic!)

and I second a request for Reggie's 'Lady in the LBD' desktop pic.

I will have to take a digital pic of the SE/30 running 7.1 (in 2 colour, not even any grays) I have usually running a Clock screensaver, since I have no other way of getting a desktop pic from it. (will do it as soon as I get home from work)

let's see if i can make a linked contribution to this thread before my
iDisk expires...

630CD with TV Tuner and Video Card.
"Streets of Fire" (1984) VHS tape was playing.

Performa 630CD desktop pic

a desktop screenshot won't include the video image,
but that's a real tuner "paused image" of willem defoe
copy/pasted onto the snapped screenshot.
the full screenshot will be "blank" at the tuner screen in a normal snapshot.

Am I the only one who preferred the OS to be called "System"? i.e. System 7? I still don't like "MacOS". (Sadly, it is the one remaining thing from the clone era that Steve kept.)

I'd rather use System X!

Yeah, but people would pronounce it as "System ecks," which sounds like "Systemax," a lame, cheap PC maker. I like Jag
