Sure, that is another kind please experience and mood, only the one with the S700i will know.

My wife has a k700i which is also meant to be a 1.3MP camera. But the photos in low light are very grainy. I notice all your sample images from the s700 are taken in pretty good lighting... any indoor photos?

Don't expect the 1.3MP camera can do well for indoor photos without flash or tripod. The Photo Light feature may help a bit, but I need to figure it out how well this would do.

It's just a slightly beefed-up k700i in a slide-phone case.
It's also 750.

I'll buy this phone when Apple updates iSync. Are they waiting for Tiger or why doesn't this phone and Nokia's latest Series 60 phones work with iSync?

Actually, I used to live in Mid-Levels, but it's hard to tell from that building.
Yea.. the S/E S700i is a nice phone.

It has nothing to do with the amount of pixels. It's because the sensors are really small (too small) and thus need a lot of "amplification" which results in extreme level of noise. It will be years before cameras on phones start to be acceptable (quality wise).

K700i is not a 1.3 MP camera, it is a .3 MP.

You're right. Though it does do some funky algorithms to give a 1.2MP image if you want.
Either way, the images are grainy indoors... good in daylight.

Just figure out that the Night Mode from the S700i is actually to control the ISO sensitivity upto ISO 1250 (it would growth to ISO 4000 under low light environment), this limits additional noise introduced. The Photo Light may help a bit when the environment is dim.

K700i isn't 1.3MP. I've got one. I agree that pictures on it in anything less than perfect light are pretty crap. This S700i thing looks like the first half-decent phone/camera integration. Is it cumbersome in real life? How's the battery life?

It would allow shooting of some 300+ pictures with some previews for a single charge.

This does look like a great phone. A US version, the S710A is coming to Cingular in December or so for $399 I think. It's still very expensive, but should be more reasonable quickly. The S710A adds Edge support, but dumps the FM radio. Oh, and I think iSync works with the S700 already, you just need to initiate the bluetooth connection from the phone before syncing or something like that.
