So is it possible to swap the Core Duo for the new "Woodcrest" Core 2 in an iMac, I though I remember someone placing one in a mini although I beleive that was a merom.

No.

You can use Merom in place of Yonah, but not Conroe or Woodcrest.

Sweet. I'm getting a new iMac Core Duo 20" next week. I figure in about a year or so I can pop in a new processor to give it some greater longevity. Long live the ZIF slot.

Why don't you just wait a month and get a black 23" iMac with a Core 2?

It's a nice rumor. I sure hope they have a video card in it that can play WoW at that resolution with all settings maxed.

I'm looking forward to Empire at War now that I can run Windows on my new iMac. Sure, I'll go to hell for it, but what the ... hell.

I'd prefer a white iMac.
