Hi all. I just bought another ibook 800 but the 12.1" instead...I bought it used and brought it home...it did'nt come with the original install disks and it had OS9 on it..it did not have OSX...well I formatted the HD and installed OSX...after the grey apple screen the blue screen came up but really small...and I got everything to install but when it came to the setup it said it could not set it up because of display...I went into system prefs and it showed two displays! so I booted from a Backup HD with OSX 10.2.8 from my G4 tower and the ibook looks normal..no issues...so I again reformatted the Ibook HD and tried to reinstall X and the same thing! do I need the original disks? or what? I might ues Carbon copy clone for now but I always like to do a fresh install..thanks for any info...MT

I guess the hack to get dual display has been enabled... Just try to reset the PRAM (hold down command-option-P-R during startup until the iBook restarts).
