Made my first "real" FaceTime call yesterday, which was also my first real videophone call.
Found myself surprisingly thrown by the videophone concept. Looking at the person was uncomfortable, and took effort. It was much easier to stare off into space, like I do when I'm on the phone.
I thought it had to do with me pacing, but I pace and look at my phone all the time. I'm doing it now.

Video calls are fine with me. And I keep a cloth across the camera when not in use. (desktop use)
FaceTime always brought cage-fights to my mind. In-your-face time. Two (or more) men enter, one leaves. Or perhaps punch-in-face time. Obviously, they didn't test the product name with me before rolling it out.

I've not done FaceTime calls, but I've done a lot of Skype calls with family from my wife's laptop. As jiggly/jumpy as a Skype call is when someone bumps their laptop, I can't imagine how unstable a FaceTime call must be.

The worst part about FaceTime is that my wife can more easily tell when I'm browsing the web instead of listening to her.
