I have trouble with a program.
Specifically Bar Code Pro 3.0.8
I maek bar codes and then it will not work.
It tells me that making changes to bar code files
is prohibited. I need to delete the invisible preference file to get it to work. It will not even let me delete the program and reinstall because the invisible file is still there. Need to delete it to use.

thanks in advance!
Have a great day!

Launch Terminal, type

ls -a

Then drag and drop the Preferences folder inside ~/Library/ onto the Terminal.

and you should see all the invincible files.

Good luck.

<edited: Oops, sorry, thought this was an OS X forum. My bad. In Classic, you can use Resedit or FileBuddy to look for invincible files.>

If you have X, you can also find file that's invisible. I think this is also available in Classic.

If you don't have X then do a search for the invisible file or install the contextual module "Make invisible" that lets you find invisible files/folders, and also make them invisible.
i look in your general direction

Ok, after you find it you still need to be able to actually delete it. To do this use ResEdit, do File -> Get Info, which will let you browse through your folders. Find the file probably in the Preferences folder, or maybe in the application's folder, and double click it. You can uncheck "invisible," then save your changes. Now you should be able to click to the same folder in the Finder and drag the file to the trash.
