Just got an internal 500gig drive for new 8-core MacPro. This drive will be used for recording audio and video. Are there any benefits to partitioning this in two, or is leaving it one okay as far as seek times etc. go ...does this even matter anymore?

Thanks for any help.

I'd leave it as one big partition and keep it relatively empty (say, half full).
