Sweet jesus. My neighbor down the street was swatted late last night. She has a cute little cooking show stream on Twitch, and has a small charity associated with it. Everyone seems to think the public records for the charity is where the swatter got her home address.
They have four kids, including an infant. I guess the upside is the cops didn’t just do a no-knock and storm the house. They actually pounded on the door. Of course, being three in the morning and dead asleep, my neighbor had no idea wtf was going on, was scared, and answered the door with a chef’s knife for protection. This being suburbia, and she being a cute, young, blonde, white woman probably helped her survive opening the door armed with a big knife.
Of course, no one has any clue who placed the call.

My buddy will got swatted when he was a kid, or his neighbors did. Cops shot his dog chained up in his yard anyway. ACAB.

We haven't had any swatting. Just the traditional 2AM rock concerts. Helping their neighbors wake up and appreciate real music.

I am fully behind putting people who call in false reports that lead to SWAT operations under the jail. Or in the same cell with “Bubba,” who’s been lonely for a long time. Just sayin’.
My “neighbor issues”, except for fireworks of course, stem from my lot backing up to the bus loop for a high school. Deliveries at 4am aren’t a real problem, except for the speed bumps on the bus loop; some big truck drivers seem to be trying to see how much “air” they can get on the speed bumps.
Also, around here anyway, boys trying to show off with how loud their cars can be is a thing. It’s related to the fairly high accident rate at nearby intersections, but hopefully not related to any sort of success with the opposite sex.

I think the internet has generally turned away from glorifying prison rape as a valid punishment.

That’s fine for the Internet. But “Joe Fake Expert” should get to find out for himself if it’s true.
