One thing I did notice was that Apple didn't knock off any of the price off their Unibody Macbooks before Christmas. I wonder if the demand is exceeding or keeping up with their forecasts. Seems like all the other retailers from Crime-mart to J C Penny were having sales or really big discounts. I remember some infidel company reported that their study said that Apple would sell less Mac this quarter and the internet news hounds just jumped on it like a bunch of wagon jumpers.

Hmmm! Makes one wonder.

Apple doesn't have to desperately blow out inventory like many other retailers. Apple's still doing well during this downturn so far, and it has a metric ton of money on hand.

Right on Big Mac. It looks like Apple isn't sacrificing their margins like other retailers have done.IMHO.

They did (and still do) offer 0% financing over 10 months in many places, though.

They did in fact cut prices, on Black Friday, when all customers were eligible for education pricing. They also offer six months' same-as-cash financing, until the end of the year, on a Juniper VISA credit card, for all purchases over $1000. Any places offering 10 months are not doing so through Apple.

The world doesn't end in Florida, even if it may seem so in (US) election years...

But yeah, Apple's 10-month 0% financing offer appears to have expired.

Yes, but that had nothing to do with the economy, it's just something Apple has done for years now.

They're a brand new product... if anything they'd cut the price of the desktops, which took a dive in sales.

I don't know what Florida has to do with anything, but Apple hasn't had a 10-month, 0% financing offer in years, if ever, unless it was a very local deal. They have the Juniper VISA card deal, which runs year-round, at 0% financing to qualified buyers, if paid off in 90 days. This year, from Thanksgiving through the end of the year, they're offering six months, provided the purchase is over $1000; if under $1000, it's 90 days.

If you can show me where they've offered 10 months, I'll eat my words, but I've never seen it, and I work for Apple.
