I have a 30G video iPod which I had in my semi-waterproof case in my completely closed backpack when I walked with it in the rain for 10 minutes. However, despite the level of protection it still managed to get damaged. It is not dead, but the screen flashes (white only) sometimes for a few seconds. It makes whistling and clicking noises, but pressing menu gets it to stop. My iPod is no longer under warranty, so is it possible to fix it myself? The damage is obvioiusly minimal, but I have no real control over my iPod. Should I leave it alone for a few days? Try and blow dry it through the USB outlet thingy? Is it possible to take it apart and let the pieces dry spereately? I don't have enough money for a new one and I really hope this one is fixable. Please help!!

Speaking from experience of submerging electronic equipment.

Dry it out, in fact, the best thing for it would be put it near an A/C. A/Cs produce incredibly dry air, it doesn't need to be hot to dry the moisture out of something.

Of course I've never gotten anything wet with a HD in it, but it's worth a shot.

Try leaving it in a bowl of rice for a few days. That should get out all of the water still in it.
