Like many, I am a WoW junkie.
Many of my PC friends have tons of add-ons.
I have none.
Are there any worthwhile add-ons for use with the Mac?

Which ones?
What do they do?

Addons are the same between platforms — Mac or PC doesn't make a difference. I use most of the Discord mods. They let you customize your unit frames, toolbars, spellbook, etc. CT_Mod is also popular (CT_Raid is generally considered almost essential for the endgame). Check out Curse Gaming for a good resource for finding addons.

I recommend the Titan Panel - its great. And yes, PC add-ons work fine on the mac-

CT_Mod is pretty cool, although I only use the combat stats thing for checking out DPS and such and the map mod- which is probably the most useful part. It lets you use coordinates on the map and leave notes on where stuff is. Very useful.

If you like Titan, check out Fubar.
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/index.php?cid=86

Yes, it requires a library called "Ace", but it has some features that Titan is sorely missing, like drag/drop moving around of modules, something every Mac user should appreciate.

I second FuBar. Titan bar unfortunately has memory problems, as it seems to leak it quite fast. Since switching to FuBar I haven't had a problem.

The other big WoW UI mod website is http://ui.worldofwar.net. Both it and Curse-Gaming are the most up to date sites at this time.

The addon should come with a readme of some sort or instructions on its Web page. Addons do different things and define their own interfaces, so we can't just say, "Here is how you use addons."

Most addons, once enabled have either a button around the miniMap (which you click, duh) or a command you have to type in or both. It also depends on what the addon does, some are purely to enable functionality with other ones.

I'd recommend:
- Ace : Required for some mods
- AceLoot : Moves the loot window to under your mouse, and is movable
- ArcHUD : Refreshing HP/MP/Enemy HUD
- Atlas : Shows you maps of instances, along with boss locales
- AtlasLoot : Adds to Atlas the ability to view/link/preview all bosses' loots (and drop %s)
- CleanChat : Removes the [Raid] etc from in front of chat lines
- CT_RaidAssist : Incredibly useful if you aim on playing in 20/40 man raids
- CT_UnitFrames : Display yours and the enemies health on their bars
- Decursive : If you're a priest/mage/etc that will be dispelling/curing ailments
- DepositBox : Lets you save money away to a separate "box"
- EasyRaid : Works with CT_RA, makes everything prettier and more seamless IMO.
- EzDismount : Automatically dismounts you at flight masters, using an action, etc
- FriendShare : Syncs your friends/ignore list across characters
- Gatherer : For tracking herb/ore/etc nodes on your mini/world map
- GhostBarMod : Great for instantly showing and hiding lesser used things (such as professions)
- ItemRack : Easily swap all your equipment
- ItemSync : Tracks items you've seen in a searchable database
- ManyItemTooltips : Great for comparing items
- MassAuctionBidder : For buying a lot of something, easily
- MoveAnything : Just as it says
- MobInfo2 : Tracks mobs' HP/etc, usable with CT_UnitFrames and such
- Nurfed_General : Misc things, includes auto-repearing whenever possible
- rSelfCast : Cast a spell on yourself by right-clicking it, without losing your target
- SimpleHealthFade : Recolours yours/enemies health from green to red depending on the %
- SortedReputation : Sort your reputations from most to least, etc
- SpellAlert : Tells you when an enemy/player is casting something and what it is
- StanceSwap : Automatically change weapon(s) as you switch Warrior stances
- STFU : Removes more than 3 of the same character and duplicate lines/emotes
- Titan : Already talked about
- TitanHonorPlus : Great PVP details tracker
- TitanRoll : Automatically do a /roll 100 (also displays and sorts results)
- Bandia's Recommended Level : Tells you good places to grind at your level

All available from Worldofwar.net and Curse-gaming. I was a bit of a add-on junky.. Had over 170 in my AddOns folder.

What about performance issues ?
Do the addon make the game slower ?

I play on my powerbook with the complete insomniax kit (which is really good BTW Insomniax.net) and I'm looking for a way to make it faster

Some addons can slow the game down a bit. In general, they don't make a noticeable difference as long as you have enough memory.

I'm a big WoW addict, I just switched from a PC to an iMac, and I love, it, but is there an addon for Flagrsp that will work for the Mac, I tried to download the one and it was a .exe file, is there something I can do with that to make it work? Being on an RP server, I love the Flagrsp, and want it really badly, if anyone can help me out with some info, that'd be wonderful.

The best way is to decide what pieces of insomniax you like and download them seperately. You will have to maintain them yourself though. i.e. updating them yourself. But thats easy, just add them to your favorites on curse-gaming, and check the site frequently.

You shouldn't have to use anything special to unzip folders. Mac OS X comes with tools to do that.

My addons:

CT_Mod
CT_Raid
Titan Panel
Auctioneer (incl. Enchantrix)
Grid
Decursive 2.0
ItemRack

I think that's it.

I have dowloaded a few add-ons from curse a they seem to work just fine. Like, mini-map coords or atlas loot and ct raid back in the day. Now, i have been dowloading other add-ons like titan panel, bongos2 ( to get more organized with spell bar), CT-Boss mod but they dont seem to work. I put them inside the add-on folder but nothing happens and i also checked the add-on button in my character list. So, what do you guys do to make it work?

There's nothing special you have to do to make it work. Are you sure you're dragging the whole addon (i.e. the entire folder) and not just one file out of there? Also, are you sure you're not dragging an extra folder around the addon folder? Sometimes there will be an extra enclosing folder after you unzip it.
