Hello-

Woke up this morning to find my PB video is messed up. I'm guessing the video card is taking a dump? Anyone confirm this? Or is a driver messed up?

I had what I thought was a dead video card on my 17inch 1GHZ, but after a brief consult with an Apple Genius (my brother) he suggested checking the RAM.

Lo and behold I removed the Kingston stick (which had worked for years) and it booted up fine, no video issues.

RAM gets old and breaks apparently. Anyway I hope it works for you, because RAM for those machines is dirt cheap.

Good luck.
I have Mac

I second general smiley and suggest you remove any RAM from the lower RAM slot as this was prone to failure.

Sorry for the long delay... I didn't get an email saying this thread had responders, but I did try the RAM swap, and no go. The screen is still jacked out. I tried each RAM stick I have (one OEM 512 and one Corsair 1.0GB) and tried each one in each slot. Video is still jacked out.

I think this is one case of NOT a faulty lower RAM slot

It is a dead video card
