Visiting my folks who have a pc with comcast cable modem (@home provider, I think). I've tried to translate their tcp settings to the equivalent mac tcp settings...no luck getting online via my mac yet. Anyone with some insight into this process?

The search names, ip, subnet all seem straighforward/similarly titled, but the other elements seem to have different names.

I'm going to assume your buddies PC setup is the equivalent to a Mac's Manual Ethernet setup. So here it goes:

PC:--> Mac
IP Address:--> IP Address
Subnet mask:--> Subnet mask
Gateway:--> Router address
DNS configuration:--> Name server add.
Domain:--> Search domains

Hope this helps.
