OS 9.1/B&W G3 Wake From Sleep Problem

Howdy, guys. I've got a problem and I'm hoping y'all can help me. I've got a 350 MHz Blue & White G3 DVD with 384 MB of RAM running OS 9.1 and whenever I put it to sleep, upon waking up, everything is slower. Typing can't keep up with me and displaying of everything is just slower (until I restart). So basically, I can't put my system to sleep without it waking up with temporary brain damage
This problem doesn't happen on OS 8.6, however. I have 8.6 on another partition and that one handles sleeping fine. I've tried running only OS 9.1 base extensions and it still happens. I also tried rebuilding the desktop. Any ideas, guys?? Thanks a million!

I had the same problem on my B &W G3/450 until I replaced Apple CD/DVD Driver v1.4.5 with v1.4 from the Mac OS 9.1 installer that I downloaded. Now everything works normally after waking from sleep. I used TomeViewer to extract the driver from the installer tome. You can download Tome Viewer from MacResource.com

Well, guys...I think I fixed it! It finally dawned on me to try starting up with extensions completely off (rather than just down to the base set). When I did this, the problem didn't occur. So I knew that the problem was a conflicting extension and that it was within the OS 9 base set. But the problem was finding out which extension was bad.
So I just did a bunch of restarts turning on a few extensions at a time and I finally narrowed it down to the Iomega Driver extension (v.6.0.6) that drives my internal Zip drive. But without that extension, the drive wouldn't recognize Zip disks!
So then I went to the Iomega website and downloaded the latest version of Iomega Ware, which installed v.6.0.8 of the Iomega Driver. Unfortunately, this version still caused the wake from sleep lag! Now since I'm pretty lazy and unorganized, I had about 10 other copies of this driver on my machine from previous OS updates and clean installs. I had versions 6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.0.4, 6.0.6, and 6.0.8. Since 6.0.6 and 6.0.8 didn't work, I tried 6.0.4. Even THAT didn't work! I finally tried 6.0.2 (although I still had 6.0.1 to try if necessary) and luckily, 6.0.2 worked. Whew! So if anybody's having this problem, try disabling the Iomega Driver extension.
