just did a clean install on my rev a imac ,233mh, 64mb ram. installed 0s 9 then the update to 9.04. I have a problem with changing fonts in the appearance control panel. the "Large System Font" only has 5 different fonts to choose from, I do not like any of them, The "Small system Font" only has one choice(geneva), and in internet explorer I cannot seem to change the font that appears on the web page itself(I can change the font of what gets typed text boxes on search engines and text boxes like here) And when reading simple text files the font is the same ugly one as in explorer....How do I add more fonts to the appearance control panel(for both stated above) and if any can explain the explorer font issue that would be great? I hope this makes sense... thanks

Those menus are always rather limited...
I believe that I only have 7 or 8 to choose from.
However, I am using Lucida Grande at size 13 (like OS X) via Kaleidoscope . Much better than anything available in the Appearance control panel.

Be happy.

If you are not willing to run Kaleidoscope just for font versatility, you could try Font Smoothie. It lets you change your system font and its size. You can find it at the following URL:
http://www.nouturninc.com/mac/index.htm
l
Hope it helps!

correct url for font smoothie:
http://www.goddfaddasoft.com/mac/smoothie/index.html
Note: whenever you need some software you should search for it at versiontracker.com, and whenever you are confronted with the wrong url posted for software, likewise go to versiontracker.com and find that software

Funny... people are saying that Lucida Grande isn't publicly available, yet it's not all that different from Adobe's Lucida Sans. Much too lazy to drag out my copy of FontFolio (yea for site licenses) to compare tracking and kerning tables.
